Accessible Outdoors Month

July is Accessible Outdoors Month, shining a spotlight on how disabled people across the UK are embracing the outdoors through adaptive sports, accessible walks, and inclusive water adventures.

Launched in 2024, Accessible Outdoors Month is all about promoting inclusivity, and getting outside to enjoy activities in the way that suits you. The goal is simple: the great outdoors is for everyone.

Our getting out and about section has information and advice about transport options, safe travel in your wheelchair, leisure activities, holidays and more!

You can find sport activities and accessible days out in our community directory. You can also use the filters on the left side of the page to find activities for people with a physical disability and those with sight or hearing loss.

Hampshire has a number of accessible sensory walking trails, allowing you to connect with nature. The trails are designed for those living with sensory impairment and are wheelchair accessible, but open to anyone to enjoy. The New Forest has a number of accessible walks, including trails for those in a wheelchair.

You can find local classes, and filter by disability on the Every Body Moves website.
