Best Start Family Hubs will be local hubs where families can access a range of services all in one place. Think of them as a 'one-stop shop' for families with children from pregnancy through the early years and beyond. 

Opening on the 21st of March, 10am -1pm at Leigh Park Library, 50 Park Parade, Leigh Park, Hampshire, PO9 5AB

Once your Best Start Family Hub is open you can come and meet your friendly Best Start Family Hub Connector — whether you’re looking for activities, advice, local services, or just someone to listen, we’re here to help you feel supported and connected.

What’s happening at the Best Start Family Hub?

  • Fun ‘stay and play’ sessions where you and your child can meet other families
  • Simple parenting tips and courses to help you feel more confident
  • Support to help your child learn to talk and manage feelings
  • Health checks and friendly advice
  • Help with children’s behaviour and emotions and ideas to make your home a great place for learning.

Where is the Best Start Family Hub in Leigh Park?

You can find the hub at Leigh Park Library, 50 Park Parade, Leigh Park Hampshire PO9 5AB

When is it open?

The Best Start Family Hub in Leigh Park is open during library hours. There will also be clinics with Health Visitors and child and parent learning programmes taking place on Monday's and Wednesday's when the library is closed to the public.

Library opening hours:

  • Tuesday 9:30am to 5pm
  • Thursday 9:30am to 5pm
  • Friday 9:30am to 5pm
  • Saturday 9:30am to 1:30pm.

(Closed on Bank Holidays)

Is there internet at the Best Start Family Hub?

  • WIFI and computers are available for you to use - free of charge. The computers do turn off 15 minutes before the library closes.

Leigh Park Library is on one floor and accessible throughout.

Can I bring a buggy or pram?

Yes, buggies and prams are welcome in the library.

Travelling by bus?

  • Nearest bus stop is Park Parade (stop C) and 1 minute walk.
  • Havant Bus Station PO9 1QD  8 minutes by bus, 24-minute walk.
