With Smoke Free Hampshire you can quit your way. Whether you’d rather receive support to quit smoking by phone, online or in-person, Smoke Free Hampshire offer a range of quit aids including vapes and other nicotine products to help you quit successfully. You can make your very own quit plan to fit around your job, family and lifestyle. 

We can provide in-person or remote support sessions where you’ll get advice and guidance from stop smoking experts PLUS digital support.

The Smoke Free Hampshire programme works for adults, children and young people, as well as people with specialised needs, by combining science and psychology. You give us your time and motivation and we give you the know-how to quit for good!

Smoke Free Hampshire is a free and flexible stop smoking service for Hampshire residents who wish to give up smoking or vaping.

With Smoke Free Hampshire you can quit your way. Whether you’d rather receive support to quit smoking by phone, online or in-person, Smoke Free Hampshire offer a range of quit aids including vapes and other nicotine products to help you quit successfully. Gloji is a weight management service for eligible Hampshire residents, available in three formats: face-to-face, digital, and a physical activity focused option. Eligible residents can self-refer.

Gloji also accepts 16 to 17 year olds. Eligibility is based on GP recommendation.

The programme offers a holistic approach to weight loss, combining nutrition and physical activity with accountability and support. Learn to make healthy lifestyle changes you can keep up for good.

We have partnered with Slimming World to help Hampshire residents lose weight.

Spaces are limited so there are some rules around who can join us, based on criteria like where you live or work and your BMI.

MAN v FAT is a weight management service for men, focusing on playing football.

Eligible residents can self-refer (subject to availability) via MAN v FAT in Hampshire.

Be Active Hampshire

Be Active Hampshire works with Hampshire residents to find enjoyable and accessible ways to be more active. The service supports inactive adults aged 18+ to move more through free physical activity sessions and support.

Inactive is defined as doing less than 30 minutes of exercise a week.

Support from the NHS Talking Therapies

You can access Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) in Hampshire through NHS Talking Therapies services by self-referring online or by speaking to your GP.

If you live in the Rushmoor and Hart areas, TalkPlus delivers this service and you can self refer.
SilverCloud is a free online interactive space for thinking and feeling better. It uses Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) tools to support your mental wellbeing. You can start straight away without the need for an assessment. You may be offered you a supporter to guide you as you learn about CBT and practice this in your everyday life.

Text a trained volunteer: For immediate support for anxiety, stress, or low mood, text 'HANTS' to 85258 to connect with a Shout volunteer.

Online platforms: Explore free online CBT-based self-help audio programs from the National Association of Cognitive-Behavioural Therapists.

Charities: The mental health charity Mind operates in centres around Hampshire and offers free CBT as well as peer support. Change to Find your local Mind centre.

Relate: Relate offer counselling to more than just couples. You have to make a contribution to their therapy service but it is means tested. Find out more about Relate.

Employer or university: Check if your employer or university offers any mental health support or CBT programs.

Alcohol misuse remains the leading risk factor for premature death, ill-health, and disability among people aged 15–49 in the UK. It is a direct cause of more than 60 serious medical conditions, including liver cirrhosis, certain cancers, high blood pressure, and cardiovascular disease. 

Drug misuse is also a critical concern, ranking as the fifth leading cause of disability and death among 15–49-year-olds in Hampshire. 

Beyond health impacts, drug dealing fuels violence and organized crime. Approximately half of all homicides are linked to gangs involved in drug distribution and sales—underscoring the devastating social consequences of substance misuse.

There are a number of different support services funded to help Hampshire residents who are struggling with drag and alcohol addiction and their families.

Inclusion Recovery Hampshire

Inclusion Recovery Hampshire is a drug and alcohol treatment service for adults over 25 years old.

Inclusion Recovery Hampshire is a confidential, free and easy-to-access service for anyone aged 25 and over living in Hampshire affected by their own or someone else’s use of drugs and alcohol. You can access confidential support via their helpline on 0300 1240103.

Hampshire 24/7

Hampshire 24/7 is a drug and alcohol treatment service for young people aged under 25 years old. Call 0800 5999591 for support.

Support for parents, family and friends

Confidential support and advice for parents, families and friends of those who use drugs and alcohol is available from Parent Support Link (PSL). You can call them on 0238 0399764.

The Frank websites provides a range of factual information of various drugs and the signs and symptoms of using particular drugs as well as downloadable resources.

Drinkaware is a charity which aims to reduce alcohol-related harm by helping people make better choices about their drinking. This site provides impartial information, advice and practical resources, raising awareness of alcohol and its harmful effects.

You can also take a confidential alcohol test to see if your consumption of alcohol is becoming a problem.

Other local and national support options are also available.
