Parenting can be incredibly rewarding, but it can also feel challenging at times – and there’s no manual to guide us through it. Every family is different, and we all find our own way as we go.

Parenting courses can be a helpful way to connect with other parents and carers, share experiences, and pick up practical ideas and strategies that might make everyday life a little easier.

Choosing to attend a parenting course is not a sign that you’re doing anything wrong. It’s simply about giving yourself a bit of extra support. You can take what feels helpful and leave the rest—and who knows, you might even come away with a new friend and a few useful tips.

Here you’ll find a range of courses, both online and in person, designed to support parents of children and young people of all ages.

Togetherness NHS is a parenting resource that helps you better understand your child’s feelings, behaviour, and development. It focuses on building a strong, positive relationship between you and your child, which supports their emotional wellbeing.

The approach is based on three simple ideas:

  • Understanding behaviour – recognising that children’s behaviour is a way of communicating how they feel
  • Building relationships – helping parents and children to connect, communicate, and feel understood
  • Managing emotions and behaviour – giving parents practical, supportive ways to respond to challenges

It offers helpful tools and guidance to support you through different stages of your child’s life, helping you feel more confident and connected as a parent.

It is free to access for parents living in Hampshire.
