Your home
Top tips for staying safe at home.
You have a right to feel safe in your home. You can decide who can come into your home and who you spend time with. Take a look at this video and don't forget to reach out for help if you need to. You can see how to do this here.
Visitors: Always ask for ID from people who come to your door and don't let people in if you are unsure of who they are. Never give money to strangers who show up unannounced.
Fire safety: Check your smoke alarms every month, or ask someone to do it for you. Create an exit plan for getting out of the house in case of a fire.
Emergency contacts: Keep a charged mobile phone with you and know where it is. Know the emergency numbers to call: 999 for emergencies, 101 for non-emergency police, and 111 for health advice.

Online safety
Personal information: Do not share personal information like your full name, address, or bank details online. Don't post photos that show where you live.
Passwords: Keep all your passwords secret.
Internet contacts: Be cautious of people who might not be who they say they are. If a message looks strange, try calling or texting the person to check it's really them. It's best to get advice from a trusted friend or family member before talking to a new person online.
Meetings: Never meet up alone with someone you have only met online.
If you feel worried or feel unsafe
Tell a professional or someone you trust, like a friend, family member, or support worker, right away. If it's an emergency, call 999.
