Travelling by train

If you have a disability and travel by train, you may be eligible to apply for a Disabled Persons Railcard.

The Disabled Person’s Railcard is a national card that gives you a third off your rail fares.  You can use your railcard at any time of day to get this discount.

It also allows a family member, friend or carer to accompany you, with the same discount applied to their ticket.

Travelling by bus

If you have a disability and travel by bus, you may be eligible for a disabled persons bus pass.

The disabled person’s bus pass entitles you to:

  • free travel between 9:30am to 11pm Monday to Friday and all day at weekends and on public holidays on bus services throughout England. London buses displaying a roundel will accept a disabled person’s pass at any time. Show your pass to the driver as passes don’t currently read on the card readers.
  • use your bus pass on Hampshire Park and Ride services registered as local bus services (you must still pay for the parking). Park and Ride services in other areas may not accept bus passes so please check for details.

To find out more and apply online, visit the Hampshire County Council website.
