SEND Local Offer Discovery Days

What if you could explore your SEND Local Offer in person, on one day?

Join us at an event near you to find out about your local special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) support

SEND Local Offer Discovery Days

Our Discovery Days offer a welcoming space for families to explore the wide range of local services and support available. They provide the chance to speak directly with the teams who work with children and young people with special educational needs and disability, helping families access timely information, early support, and meaningful connections within their community.

Families can expect

  • Opportunities to meet professionals from key SEND services
  • Information stands from charities, providers and community organisations
  • General support and advice for children and young people aged 0-25
  • Signposting to early help, assessment pathways and inclusive activities
  • A welcoming, relaxed environment where families can explore at their own pace

A series of workshops will be available

(See the table below for session times.)

Post- 16 options: Delivered by Hampshire Achieves, this workshop will guide you through the range of Post‑16 pathways available for young people with SEND. You’ll learn about the transition timeline from Year 9 onward, along with where to find further information, advice and helpful resources. We’ll explore what different routes look like, including college options, vocational pathways and work‑based programmes and discuss the key things to consider when making decisions about the future.

Upcoming SEND reforms and consultation: Hampshire Parent Carer Network (the parent carer forum for Hampshire) will be running a series of workshops on the upcoming SEND reforms and consultation. These sessions will explain the proposals, what they could mean for children, young people and families, and how you can take part in the consultation.

We will support you to understand the proposals and give you the support to share your views in the consultation. We will have printed copies of consultation questions as well as the easy read versions.

Your experience matters. Come along and have your say, this will help the forum with its formal response to the white paper.
