NCMP Explained in Under 3 Minutes
This short video explains what the National Child Measurement Programme is and why it takes place.

Every year, children in Reception and Year 6 are invited to have their height and weight measured as part of the National Child Measurement Programme (NCMP).
The programme helps build a picture of children's growth across England and supports planning for health services. Your child's measurements are taken in school by trained staff in a private and sensitive way.
On this page, you can find information about how your child's data is used, what happens on the day, and where to get support if you have questions about your child's growth, health or wellbeing.
If you have questions about the National Child Measurement Programme or would like support following your child's measurements, please contact your local School Nursing Team for advice and guidance.
