Your care records are a record of your life in care, and you have the right to ask to see them if you want to.
This section explains how you can access your records, what they might include, and the support available to help you understand them.
Some of the information may feel important or emotional, so you won’t have to go through it on your own—your Personal Advisor or another trusted adult can support you through the process.
Whether you’re looking for answers, background information, or just want to understand your story better, there is help in place to guide you safely and at your own pace.

You may want to access your care records. You are entitled to request any information we hold on you.

The Care Leavers Association has a video guide to accessing your care records and the benefits and downsides of doing this.

To access information held by Children’s Services download the Children's Services subject access request form.  Once you have completed the form please either post it to: Children's Services Subject Access Request Team, 2nd Floor North, E11 Court, Winchester, SO23 8UG.

Or e-mail childrens.services.sar@hants.gov.uk

If you were adopted, Hampshire Adoption provides help and advice if you were adopted or you are looking for family members who were adopted.
