What support can my young person get once they are over 19?
There are a range of services available to support young people with SEND, disabilities, health conditions and mental health needs as they move into adulthood.
Support may be available to help your young person develop confidence and independence, access education or training, find employment, build social connections, improve their wellbeing and take part in their local community.
Some services offer practical help with preparing for work, writing CVs, attending interviews and finding employment. Others provide information, advice, social groups, peer support, community activities and opportunities to meet other young adults with similar experiences.
The support available will depend on your young person's individual needs, goals and circumstances. Some services are open to all young adults, while others are designed specifically for people with SEND, autism, ADHD, disabilities, health conditions or mental health needs.
On this page, you can find information about organisations and services that can support young people aged 19 and over as they move towards greater independence, employment, community involvement and adult life.
