Be You: Girls’ Support Space
Why have a section for girls?
It’s important to say that being a boy or young man can be hard too, and everyone might need support at times but a recent survey in Hampshire found that girls are more likely to say they are struggling with their mental health.
This could be for many different reasons but national studies show that lots of girls and young women feel pressure to:
- look a certain way
- fit in with others
- be “perfect”
This pressure can come from different places, like social media, friends, school, or how people expect girls to act.
This pressure can make girls feel like they are not enough. It can make girls like you feel bad about themselves and anxious that they are not what they should be.
If these are things you struggle with as well, you are not alone in feeling this way 💛
This information is here to help you:
- understand your feelings
- feel more confident
- know what can help
- know where to get support
