Pupil Engagement Resources

These PowerPoint presentations have been developed to help schools introduce pupils to Hampshire's SEND Local Offer and Family Information and Services Hub (FISH) in an engaging and accessible way.

Designed for use during tutor time, PSHE lessons, assemblies or enrichment activities, the presentations encourage young people to explore the information, advice and support available to them, both now and in the future. Through guided activities and discussions, pupils can build awareness of topics such as wellbeing, SEND support, preparing for adulthood, local services, activities and where to go when they need help.

The presentations are intended to help young people become more confident in finding information independently, understanding the support available to them, and knowing where to turn when they have questions or concerns.

Schools can use the resources as part of a planned programme of personal development, transition support, wellbeing activities or careers and preparation for adulthood work. They can be delivered as provided or adapted to meet the needs of individual year groups and pupils.

By introducing pupils to trusted information sources at an early stage, schools can help develop independence, self-advocacy and confidence, while ensuring young people know how to access support when they need it.

This presentation has been created to help tutors, pastoral staff, teachers and school leaders become familiar with Hampshire's SEND Local Offer and Family Information and Services Hub (FISH).

The resource provides an overview of the information available across the websites and highlights where staff can find support on key topics such as SEND, mental health and wellbeing, education, transitions, preparing for adulthood, family support, activities and local services.

The presentation is intended to build staff confidence in navigating the websites and signposting families and young people to trusted information. It can be used as part of staff briefings, CPD sessions, SEND training or induction for new members of staff.

By understanding what information is available and where to find it, staff can provide more consistent signposting, support early help, and help families access the right information at the right time.

Together, the staff and pupil presentations support a whole-school approach to promoting the Local Offer and FISH, helping ensure that both young people and the adults who support them know where to find information, advice and support.
